I created a dazzling new site for Oakleaf Forestry are the UK and Ireland’s leading supplier of firewood processing and low impact timber harvesting and extraction machinery. Following a one hour brand sprint where we explored the issues the client was facing in the post-Coronavirus reality, I put an outline plan and structure together and once approved designed and coded a new WordPress site for the company which sells high quality harvesting, extraction, biomass and road transport machinery for the forestry industry.
Working closely with the team, I redesigned and reworked the client’s logo working closely with the client and the marketing assistant. I created and edited a full company product list with content defined by categories, such as harvesting, extraction, biomass etc rather than by brands.
I built a brand area of the site so users could learn more about the products of each of the client’s brands and featured this on the Home page too.
I built an Events section for the site to help the team set of remote and virtual meetings and demos following the cancellation of their main trade show in the UK until at least 2021. I also created a Behind the Scenes section for the site. To add a more human, more engaging feeling to the site I suggested client supply behind the scenes footage and images.
The client now has a new website with a revised brand identity and a better online listing of their products.
This project has extra significance as it’s been funded by the Emerge project at InterTradeIreland. As an approved supplier for this programme, which helps companies develop their online presence, it has been great to work with business owners and help them overcome some of the challenges they face in the new business reality.
I’ve found that many companies are discovering new opportunities and innovative ways of working with their customers they hadn’t thought possible before. Some are finding that new markets and possibilities are opening up for them by making their business more accessible and engaging online.
